About Us

Open Law Innovation Network (OLIN) is a law and technology non-governmental organization founded in 2019 by some members of the LemonAid Team – the winning team of the Global Legal Hackathon 2018 which was hosted by S.P.A. Ajibade in Lagos. The LemonAid, also progressed through the seconds and participated in the finals round which was held in New York in April 2018.  OLIN was established based on their belief in the potential of technology to scale access to justice. OLIN was found to carry out research, develop technology and advocate for the adoption of an innovative approach to justice in Nigeria and the Global South.

As a firm believer in the power of events, competitions and engagements as vehicles for raising legal tech evangelists, OLIN has put together several events and competitions on Legal Aid and Technology. Since its founding, OLI N has been actively engaged in the promotion of Technology as a tool to improve access to justice in Nigeria. It developed Ligal Aid - a case management software to streamline legal aid solutions - in 2020. OLIN organized a second Global Legal Hackathon in 2020 in Lagos, Nigeria. Legal Aid Client Counselling and Case Management Competition was hosted by OLIN in 2021. Apart from the above, OLIN equally organized a Client Couselling and Case Management Competition in 2021 which featured several participants mostly young lawyers.
